The MSI MAG B660M Mortar DDR4 motherboard, released in January 2022, is designed for Intel CPUs with an LGA 1700 socket. Featuring the Intel B660 chipset, this motherboard supports a single CPU and utilizes the M-ATX form factor, measuring 24.4×24.4 cm. It boasts a robust power delivery system with a 12+1+1 phase design and Vcore single output of 60A per phase.

For memory, it supports DDR4 RAM with speeds up to 4800MHz (PC4-38400), and it has four memory slots that enable dual-channel memory configurations, accommodating up to 128GB of RAM. The board supports both XMP and Optane memory technologies.

Expansion options include PCIe 4.0 x16 and PCIe 3.0 slots, with two PCIe x16 and one PCIe x1 slots available. The motherboard supports CrossFire for multi-GPU setups. Storage interfaces are well-equipped with two M.2 slots and six SATA3 (6Gb/s) ports. The M.2 slots support PCIe 4.0, PCIe, NVMe, and SATA drives, compatible with M.2 form factors 2242, 2260, and 2280. Additionally, it supports SATA RAID configurations.

For graphics output, the board provides HDMI and DisplayPort options. The rear I/O panel includes a comprehensive set of USB ports: one USB 3.x 20Gbps (Type-C), three USB 3.x 10Gbps (Type-A), and four USB 2.0 ports. Networking is handled by the Realtek 8125BG chipset, offering 2.5Gbps wired LAN connectivity via a single RJ-45 port.

Audio capabilities are powered by the Realtek ALC1200 chipset, delivering 7.1-channel output. Additional features include various headers for USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and USB 3.1 Type-C, alongside RGB and ARGB headers for customizable lighting setups. The board also includes a TPM header, M.2 heatsinks, and UEFI support, ensuring a versatile and high-performance foundation for building a gaming or productivity PC.
